BMW i Vision Dynamics: The Future of BMW Electronic Vehicles

September 27th, 2017 by

BMW continues to follow plans to make pure electric power a stalwart of the company’s vehicle lineup of the future, and the new BMW i Vision Dynamics Concept highlights the next step in that process. According to BMW, the four-door Gran Coupe offers 373 miles of range and can reach a top speed of 120 mph — racing to a 0-60 mph time of almost 4.0 seconds.

Other than those range and speed numbers, BMW hasn’t given out much information regarding the vehicle’s electric motors or battery pack. However, we can learn a lot from the Concept’s design, since that’s a great indication of the future design direction for the brand’s Gran Coupe series.

The i Vision Dynamics Concept’s calm exterior features elegant contours, a flowing roofline, short overhangs and a long wheelbase, all showcasing its clean silhouette. Of course, it has the classic BMW twin kidney grille, which has received a high-tech update through the addition of sensors that help the grille amass critical data for the Concept’s semi-autonomous operation.

In a press release, Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Board of Management and Chief Executive Officer, declared, “At the BMW Group, the future of electric mobility has already arrived. We have more electrified vehicles on the road than any established competitor and are committed to expanding our activities…by 2025 we will be offering 25 models with an electrified drive system, of which 12 will be pure electric.”
